30-Days Holiday Adventure in Uganda
Upon arrival, you will be met by Ecovic Tours and Travel staffs, who will then transfer you to Lake Height Hotel or Lake Victoria or Palm Beach Hotel a stone throw from Entebbe international airport for relaxation and your overnight stay. Or transfer you to Sheraton hotel, Africana Hotel or Mystil Hotel in Kampala for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay depending on your choice.
Day 1: Kampala city tour
After an early breakfast, have a city tour in Kampala to visit the various sites like the Uganda Museum, Kasubi Tombs, Wamala Tombs Bahai Temple and the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine and many other places that will last the whole day. We shall check in at Sheraton or mystil hotel for our relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Kampala-Kitgum
After an early breakfast, we shall drive north through Luweero to Nakasongola district, where you will stop to track the white Rhinos at Ziwa Sanctuary, eat lunch and proceed to Kitgum town for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Boma Hotel.
Day 3: Kitgum– Kidepo Valley National Park
We shall drive from Boma Hotel in Kitgum after breakfast for 3-4hours through Karamojong villages to Kidepo Valley Nationalpark. We shall make calculated stops along the way for landscape viewing before entering the park. After entering the park, we shall relax at the lodge and have lunch while we arrange for your evening game drive, which will allow us view elephants, Cape buffalo herds, cheetahs, Roan antelope, Hartebeests, lions, and many more. You will then return in the evening for dinner and your overnight at the Apoka Lodge.
Day 4: Game drive and cultural experience- Kidepo Valley National Park
On this day, we shall eat an early breakfast and then embark on an exciting morning game drive within the Narus Valley. This is where you are most likely to see lions, ostriches, jackals, etc. Later you will return to the Lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon we shall have a cultural experience that will bring you into contact with the Karamojong people at Karenna and Kapedo. Meet with the local elders and appreciate opportunity to interact with them. They will show you the kraals, cultural huts called ‘mayattas’, their grinding stones and many more interesting items. We shall then return to the Lodge for relaxation, dinner and our overnight stay.
Day 5: Hiking/ Nature walks and Birding- Kidepo Valley National park
On this day, we shall eat an early breakfast and then embark on an exciting morning 4hr hiking that will lead us to Lamoi Mountains or a 2hr nature walk around the Narus valley. Later you will return to the Lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon we shall go for birding experience at Apoka rest camp. We shall then return to the Lodge for relaxation, dinner and our overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Gulu City
Having had a delicious morning breakfast, we shall drive to Gulu city, enjoying some game viewing and stops to take the landscape along the way. You will get to experience the beautiful nature and culture of Northern Uganda as we drive through the local markets and traditional huts. We shall arrive in the evening and check in at Golden Peace Hotel for relaxation, dinner and our overnight stay.
Day 7: Murchison Falls National Park
On this day, we shall leave early for Murchison Falls National Park, arriving early in the afternoon and we shall first have lunch at the Lodge and relax. After our lunch and relaxation, we shall embark on a game drive to the northern area of the park in search of lions, hunting dogs, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and many more! Our checklist of animals will rise as we browse the drive circuits on our way to the Delta point. We shall complete our day with a visit to the top of the falls and then return to the Paraa Safari Lodge for dinner and our overnight stay.
Day 8: Game drive – Murchison Falls National Park
On our 8th day, we shall wake up early and have breakfast before departing on a sunrise nature walk. Here we shall be able to watch waves of white water tumble hypnotically through the 6 meter chasm, listen to the roar, taste the spray on your face and feel the rock shake beneath your feet. We shall return for lunch before going on a three hour boat ride to the base of the falls, where we shall see hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of beautiful bird species. We shall then return to Paara Safari lodge for dinner and our overnight stay.
Day 9: Transfer to Fort Portal City
On this day, we shall have our breakfast before transferring to Fort portal tourism city. Along the way we will pass through the Albertine rifts valleys and escarpments. We will also view some wildlife and take periodic stops (as determined by the driver and the tour guide). We shall spend the evening relaxing in preparation for our upcoming adventures. Dinner and our overnight stay will be at Mountains of the moon Hotel in Fort portal.
Day 10: Fort Portal Tourism city Tour
Day 11: Chimpanzee tracking- Kibale National Park
On this day, we shall wake up early and have breakfast before moving to Kibale National park for morning Chimpanzee tracking at Kanyanchu. Here we shall also be able to see abundant wildlife including; baboons, red tailed Colubus monkeys, vervet monkeys, various bird species, butterflies and many more. We shall have our lunch and then move to a cultural site called KAFRED for nature walk, bird and other wildlife viewing. We shall then return to the Hotel for dinner and our overnight stay at Mountains of the Moon Hotel or Fort Motel.
Day 12: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience- Kibale National Park
On this day, we shall wake up early and have breakfast before moving to Kibale National park for morning Chimpanzee Habituation experience at Kanyanchu. This is a full-day activity, where you will see Chimpanzees leave their nests between 6:00-6:30am before feeding, copulating, hunting, and anything in between before they build new nests at around 7:00pm. We shall have our lunch packed because we shall spend with chimpanzees the whole day in the jungle. We shall return in the evening and head back to the Hotel for relaxation, dinner and our overnight stay.
Day 13: Nature walk/Hot spring Experience – Semuliki National Park
On this day, we shall wake up early and have breakfast before moving to Semuliki National park for Hot spring experience and nature walk. Here we shall also be able to see abundant wildlife including; baboons, red tailed Colubus monkeys, vervet monkeys, various bird species, butterflies and many more. We shall have our lunch and then move to a cultural site called amabere ga nyina mwiru for cave viewing, hill climbing, crater lakes viewing among many. We shall then return to the Hotel for dinner and our overnight stay.
Day 14: Fort Portal-Queen Elizabeth National Park
After our morning breakfast, we shall embark on an exciting drive to Queen Elizabeth National park situated in the shadows of Mt. Rwenzori with several stops along the way for equator and landscape viewing arriving at the park in the afternoon. We shall have our lunch and then embark on a 2hrs thrilling launch trip along the Kazinga channel where we shall see hundreds of hippos, buffalos, while elephants linger on the shoreline and spot over 60 bird species during the trip. We shall return to the Lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Jacana Lodge or Mweya Safari Lodge or Ihamba Safari Lodge.
Day 15: Wildlife Tour – Queen Elizabeth National Park
After our morning breakfast, we shall begin our day with a game drive in the morning where we are likely to see early risers, predators, bush bucks, hyenas, elephants, bush pigs, Lions, buffaloes and jackals. After the drive, we shall return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, we shall embark on a 3hr Kyambura Gorge in search of chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Here we are also likely to discover different vegetation types, bird identification and behavior, chimp and monkey ecology. We shall return in the evening to the hotel for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at Jacana Lodge or Mweya Safari Lodge or Ihamba Safari Lodge.
Day 16: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On this day, we shall have our breakfast early, and then embark on an exciting road drive through the Kigezi highlands and terraced hills of the Bakiga and Bafumbira people towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park. We shall then check in for relaxation, have dinner and our overnight stay at Gorilla Mist Camp.
Day 17: Gorilla tracking- Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early morning breakfast and briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority guides, we shall set off for our Gorilla tracking experience within the forest sanctuary. The activity starts at 8:00am and we shall be joined by other people according to the Gorilla family distribution (only 8 people are allowed to view each Gorilla family per day). Here we shall need to carry with us packed lunch, drinking water, rain jackets and trekking boots. Walking sticks will also be provided if you are not sure of your fitness level. We shall hire a porter to help carry the bag throughout the tracking experience because we cannot predict how long it will take for us to find these primates as they freely move in the forest. Our encounter with the Gorillas will last for about one hour but it will be a rewarding and amazing experience. After Gorilla tracking, we shall return to the lodge to relax and later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi eco-resort.
Day 18: Lake Bunyonyi
In the morning of this day, we shall serve breakfast and go on a hike along the Bushara trail which borders the lake shore. We shall return to the hotel to relax and go on a canoe ride with a local resident to enjoy some bird species’ singing. We shall return for dinner, relaxation while enjoying the cool breeze from the surrounding Islands and an overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi eco-resort.
Day 19: Batwa trail experience- Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
After having our breakfast, we shall go for Batwa cultural encounters and enjoying nature walk. Learning about the cultural heritage of Batwa helps expound the visitors’ knowledge of the indigenous occupants of the Mgahinga forest. We shall return in the afternoon for lunch and relaxation, and then embark on a road trip to Mbarara town for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Triangle.
Day 20: Mbarara city and cultural sites
Day 21: Lake Mburo National Park
Following a delicious breakfast, we shall set off to Lake Mburo National Park. This park is famous for its numerous antelopes among which are impalas after which Uganda’s capital city was named –Kampala. Drive past breathtaking sceneries of the country side to arrive in the afternoon at Lake Mburo National Park. You will break for lunch before going for a canoe ride on the Lake as look for the various animals on the lake shore. Dine and sleep at Rwonyo Camp or at Mantana tented Camp.
Day 22: Lake Mburo Wildlife Tour
After breakfast, we shall have a morning game drive and later explore the flora and fauna of the park in the afternoon. The park is also renowned as a bird-watching paradise with more than 300 species in book. Dine and sleep at Rwonyo Camp or Mantana tented Camp
Day 23: Lake Mburo National Park- Kampala(City)
Following breakfast head back to Kampala. Make a break at mabamba swamp for birding and other wildlife viewing, take some photos at the equator and visit the craft shop, and then arrive in Kampala in the evening. We shall enjoy our dinner, relax and spend our night at Hotel Africana or Sheraton Hotel.
Day 24: Kampala (City)-Jinja (Town)
On this day, we shall have our breakfast then drive to Jinja the home to the source of the Nile. We shall stop at Sezibwa cultural site shortly, and then proceed to the Jinja passing through coffee, Tea and Sugar plantations and the colorful roadside fruit/vegetable markets. We shall make another stop at the source of the Nile to see the spot where John Speke discovered the source of the Nile. We shall continue to Jinja Nile Resort for relaxation, dinner and our overnight stay.
Day 25: Bujagali Falls and Jinja tour
on this day, we shall have our breakfast, then move to Bujagali Falls where we shall get involved in different cultural activities take place like Acrobatic, Dances, and waterfalls up to late afternoon. We shall have our lunch at Cis and Sand hotel in Jinja, and then embark on a journeyto tour Jinja town, some industries and some factories before we return to the hotel for relaxation, dinner, and our overnight stay at crested crane hotel.
Day 26: Jinja- Mt. Elgon National Park
On this day, we shall have our breakfast; we shall embark on a journey to Mt. Elgon National Park where we shall stop in Mbale town to have lunch at Thatchi Gardens or City talk hotel. We shall reach in the evening then check in for relaxation, dinner, and our overnight stay at Mt. Elgon Guest house.
Day 27: Hiking/Nature Walks – Mt Elgon National Park
On this day, we shall have our breakfast and then go for mountain hiking and nature walk. Here we shall hike through a 7km mountain bamboo trail to Kapkwai Cave meanders through tropical and bamboo forest to Tutum cave. Along the trail, we shall encounter many primates, birds, and rare trees such as Elgon teak and Elgon Olive. We shall return for lunch and relaxation, then embark on mountain biking that run from Sipi trading centre to Chema hill in Kapchorwa town and provide views of various waterfalls and the Karamoja plains. Here we shall have to hire bikes from Sipi River Lodge. We shall return in the evening for dinner, relaxation and dinner at Sipi River Lodge.
On this day, we shall wake up at leisure for our breakfast and then we embark on an exciting road trip to Kampala or Entebbe with a stopover at Jinja Town for our lunch. We shall arrive at Entebbe in the evening and check in at the Lake Victoria Hotel for our relaxation, dinner and our overnight stay.
Day 29: Uganda wildlife education centre (Zoo), Reptile village experience
On this day, we shall wake up at leisure for our breakfast and then we embark on an exciting trip to a reptile village in Entebbe, we shall return to the hotel for lunch before heading for Wildlife View at Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (ZOO). We shall then move to Palm Beach hotel for our dinner, relaxation and our overnight stay.
Day 30: Botanical Gardens- Flight back home
On this day, we shall wake up at leisure for our breakfast and then we move to Botanical gardens for relaxation, cocktail lunch and exchange views about the trip. The company shall also hand you a gift from Uganda as a form of appreciation and escort you back to Entebbe international airport to take your flight back home.
