Uganda is a very amazing and stunning country in the East African region bordered by Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania. The country has modified equatorial climate, with stunning beautiful scenery. It has ten national parks displaying the best of East Africa, the rift valley landscape, tropical forests with an extensive variety of flora and fauna. Gorilla tracking in Bwindi impenetrable forest

The tourist attractions in Uganda wouldn’t be complete without Gorilla Trekking. Uganda is actually the best place to go as we have the largest number of gorilla families in the Bwindi National Forrest. There are 15 habituated gorilla families in Uganda including one in Mgahinga the sectors to visit for gorilla tracking are Ruhija, Rushaga, Buhoma and Nkuringo. Each family is visited by 8 people who spend one hour with the gorillas per day. Gorilla Trekking is one of the most popular Activities to do while on Safari in Uganda.

However there is an opportunity of spending 4 hours with the gorilla family during habituation experience

The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a bio diverse mountainous area lying south west of Uganda. Restricted numbers of viewing help to protect the endangered gorilla families. it’s also a sanctuary for colobus monkeys, chimpanzees and many birds such as hornbills and turacos, endangered mountain gorillas, Plan ahead if you like to be one of the few that will spend 4 hours with the Mountain Gorillas, definitely a Must do in Uganda

Wildlife viewing and game drive

Uganda has 10 national parks of which 4 are savannah to mention Queen Elizabeth National Park and is open to game drive, This activity involves the visitors to drive through the park while viewing animals. The Park has several spots of well maintained game viewing tracks.
This park has got over 200 kms of well maintained game tracks .The best time for game drives is in the morning hours where there are high chances of seeing elephants, buffaloes, lion and a variety of antelopes and other wildlife you can see safari in Uganda.

There is also the boat cruise on the Kazinga channel usually lasts for 2 hours and it gives visitors the opportunity to see a variety of yawning hippos in water, water birds, buffaloes, elephants, zebras, the Uganda-kobs, topis, water bucks, bush bucks, reed bucks, duiker, mongoose, swamp antelopes, spotted hyena, warthog, forest hog and in difficult routes in the south.

Chimpanzee tracking and Primate viewing

This will take you to Kibale National Park in southern western uganda protecting moist evergreen forest. Despite encompassing primarily moist evergreen forest, it contains diverse array of landscapes. Kibale is one of the last remaining expanses to contain both lowland and montane forests. In eastern Africa, it sustains the last significant expanse of pre-montane forest. Tracking chimpanzees is among the top Activities to do while on Safari in Uganda.

Primates are very common in Kibale National Forest. The forest has some of the highest abundances of species of primates in the area. There are many species of primates and these species persist in the less disturbed areas of the forest in their natural habitats.it was named the primate capital of the world because of this it has over 13 primate species of chimpanzee among other there are also primates like the red colobus then black and white colobus,golden monkeys.

In addition there other places to watch chimpanzees like Kyambura gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kariju and Budongo forest

White Water rafting

Jinja is a great place to hang out for a few days, whether in Jinja town itself or at Bujagali Falls with its so many exciting and thrilling activities and attractions like the exhilarating and thrilling moments of white water rafting, sunset cruises, bungee jumping.

In fact its so great that many people over the years who go for  just a weekend never leave

The nile river welcomes you in jinja town about 2 hours drive from Kampala city with a stopover in mabira forest to experience zip lining, bird watching. There are also nice places to visit like source of the Nile to experience the riverboat cruise it is the perfect way to enjoy a few relaxing hours on the River Nile. There are a variety of cruises which all start from Explorers River Camp at Bujagali and explore the beginning of the world’s longest river.

Bird Watching

Bird Watching is one of today’s most popular and fastest growing outdoor activities. Some of the best places to enjoy birding in Africa are in Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. Uganda’s birding places include National Parks, and recreation areas. Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most popular tourist destination.

mountain climbing, most challenging climbing adventure but the most rewarding of all the climbs/hikes in Uganda. Enthusiast hikers can choose from the two incredible trails to the Peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains also referred as the Mountains of the Moon and has the third highest Mountains peak in Africa. These trails include;

The Central Circuit trail, is a 7 day hike and the most challenging climb, and offers a circular hike of the Towering Rwenzori. From the Mihunga trailhead, the route slopes the Bujuku valley through Nyabitaba for acquaintance before arriving the Peaks of the Mountain. Hikers who join this trail after the Bujuku Valley have to pass through the Scott Elliot and Freshfield transverses to descend via the Mubuku Valley.Mt elgon on the eastern part of Uganda can take about 4 to 5 days, it more about discovering the fascinating wild life along the slopes and plenty of wild life that you may encounter along the way.

Mgahinga is a shorter one and easy to hike, the Muhabura also takes about 5 hours and has a crater lake at the top

Ssese islands

Uganda is landlocked nation, a thousand miles from the Indian Ocean, yet it has its hidden Tropical Islands, the Ssese Islands where you can walk on sandy beaches, fish, swim, hike, bike and eat some fresh fish from Lake Victoria.
