3 Day Exclusive Gorilla Tracking Rwanda

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes N.P.

A Guide will pick you from Kigali airport upon arrival or the hotel where you are staying do a city tour around visiting Kigali genocide memorial center and more among others later transfer to the volcanoes National Park

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking

Today you will start early! From the lodge, you drive to the park headquarters for briefing From here your driver/guide will take you as close as possible to the starting point of your gorilla tracking, you will track one of the habituated Gorilla groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day, tracking  gorillas may  take between 2 hrs -8 hrs!

Your track will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorillas’ current location. Your guide will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. Once the gorillas have been located, you will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Rwanda’s own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’.

Note: Murungi Global Tours purchases the permits in advance but is unable to reserve a specific gorilla group as it is for the park head-ranger to decide this according to your physical fitness!

Day 3: Return to Kigali

After breakfast (inclusive) you drive back to Kigali Airport making sure you check in 2 hours before departure time.
