Visit Rwanda and take part in tracking the rare mountain gorillas on our memorable 8 Days Gorillas in the Mist Rwanda safari. You will visit the world famous Volcanoes National Park.

Day 1: Arrival

Our representative will pick you up from your from the airport and transfer you at your hotel in Kigali, if its early you can discuss with your driver /guide about some activities. This marks the start of the 8 Days Gorillas in the Mist Rwanda safari.

8 Days Gorillas in the Mist RwandaDay 2: Kigali – Nyungwe Forest

Begin your safari from Kigali heading to Nyungwe National Park via Huye National Museum. Visit Nyanza King’s Palace which was the headquarters of the ancient Rwanda Kingdom before the arrival of the Europeans. The compound has the modern palace constructed by King Mutara in 1934. It is tastefully decorated with the traditional mats and utensils. Huye National Museum is reputed to be the best ethnographical Museum in East Africa. It is the home of the national ballet-Intore dancers. Have lunch in Huye Town and proceed to Murambi genocide memorial. Later drive through the forest to your preferred hotel.

Day 3: Hiking & Nature Walks

After breakfast enter Nyungwe forest to track the Angolan Colobus monkey. A walk in the forest is a whole learning experience conducted by knowledgeable guides well versed in botany, ornithology and interspecies relationship in this forest. Thereafter, return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon you may go for a nature walk or Water fall walk or canopy walk or Bird watching or Tea-Factory Visit.

Day 4: Nyungwe Chimpanzees – Kibuye (Karongi)

After breakfast, depart to Nyungwe forest (04:30 am) to track people’s closest relatives ,the chimpanzees. Thereafter return to the lodge for lunch followed by a drive to Kibuye realax at your Lodge.

Day 5: Kibuye (Karongi) – Kinigi Via Gisenyi (Rubavu)

After breakfast, drive to Rubavu and finally to Kinigi. The drive Karongi-Rubavu is via the most beautiful providing spectacular views of the tea growing country of Gisovu and Kayove. Brief stops are provided for photography. A four hours drive takes you to Rubavu for lunch  thereafter a brief city tour of Rubavu and a boat ride on lake Kivu. There after drive for two hours to Ruhengeri(Musanze) and finally Kinigi the base of gorilla tracking overnight at you preferred hotel.

Day 6: Gorillas Trekking

Early morning breakfast followed by a short drive to the park headquarters for grouping, park/ranger guide allocates and you are briefed about the dos and donts when you are with the Gorillas. This is followed by a drive to the trailheads where hiking and trekking up the hills to the bamboo zone begins. Hiking, trekking and tracking gorillas may take 2-6 hours. Sight and stay with the Gorillas for one hour. Descend to your hotel for lunch after relax or go for a village walk.

Day 7: 2nd Gorilla Trekking.

After breakfast, trek the mountains for another unforgettable experience with the gorillas for the second time, this time you are allocated a different family group to get a different experience after tracking Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon drive to Kigali.

Day 8: Airport Transfer & Departure

After breakfast, enjoy Kigali city tour, visit the craft market, Kimironko local food market and later in the afternoon transfer to Kigali international airport for your home flight.

End the 8 Days Gorillas in the Mist Rwanda safari.
