Highlight of this trip
During this 15-days birding experience and conservation trip you will visit local communities and participate in unique conservation and tree planting activities. Join researchers in different National Parks for Birding Experience. You will be able to observe and follow the birds by their Vocals and witness some birds build new nests.
National Parks and protected areas you will visit include; Kibale National Park, Semuliki National Park which is the birders haven, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Parks, some Wildlife Reserves and some community Initiatives.
Activities will include Birding experience, Nature Walks, Community Conservation Education and Tree planting activities.
Itinerary
Arrival day
Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide from Ecovic Tours and Travel Uganda who will then transfer you to the Hotel/Lodge/Guest House a stone throw from Entebbe international airport for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
On this day, you will have your breakfast and drive through the Uganda’s rolling green hills to Lake Mburo National Park (the drive will take approximately 3-4 hours). Bird viewing opportunities are excellent – for birders, this is one of the best places to find African fin foot, papyrus bush shrike. Lake Mburo National Park is an extension of the Tanzanian plains with big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates. You will have lunch and go for Community Conservation Education and Tree planting (Afforestation, Re-afforestation and Forest Restoration) activities with the Communities of Lake Mburo National Park. You will check in at the Lodge/Hotel/Guest House for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
On this day, you will have our breakfast and go on a morning birding experience where you expect to see birds like African fin foot, papyrus bush shrike, shoebill, and hammer kops among others. You will have lunch and embark on a 3 hours thrilling boat cruise where you will see different bird species including King Fisher, Shoebill Stock, Hammer kops among others. You will also have a chance to view a variety of wild animals including Zebras, Antelopes, Buffalos, among others. You will return to the Lodge/Hotel/Guest House for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
After an early morning breakfast, you will embark on an exciting road drive through the Kigezi highlands and terraced hills of the Bakiga and Bafumbira people towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park the Home of Gorillas. You will arrive in the afternoon, have lunch and then go for Cannoe ride with the locals of Lake Bunyonyi. Here you will be able to view a number of Aquatic birds, enjoy some bird species’ singing and animals. You will check in to the Lodge/Hotel/Guest House for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
In the morning of this day, you will serve breakfast and go for morning birding experience at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You will return for lunch, and then embark on a road drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will arrive in the evening and check in to the Lodge/Hotel/Guest House for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
On this day, you will begin your day with a morning birding experience where you are likely to see early risers. You will have lunch then embark on a 3hrs thrilling launch trip along the Kazinga channel where you will see hundreds of hippos, buffalos, while elephants linger on the shoreline and spot over 60 bird species during the trip. You will check in at the Lodge/Hotel/Guest House for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
After our morning breakfast, you will transfer to Kibale National Park with several stops at the equator and other beautiful scenery along the way. You will arrive in the afternoon, have lunch and go for Community Conservation Education and Tree Planting activity with the Communities of Kibale. You will check in to the Lodge/Hotel/Guest House for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
On this day, you will wake up early and have breakfast and then move Kanyanchu visitors center for briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority guides before going for birding experience. You will return in the afternoon, have lunch and then go for Nature walk at KAFRED in Bigodi where you expect to see a variety of bird species. You will also be able to see abundant wildlife including; baboons, red tailed Colubus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, various bird species, butterflies and many more. You will return to the Lodge/Hotel/Guest House for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
On this day, you will wake up early and have breakfast before moving to Semuliki National park for Hot spring experience, Nature Walk and Birding Experience where you expect to see birds like White Crested Hornbill, Red-billed Dwarf Hornbill, Piping Hornbill, Yellow-throated Nicator, Great blue and Ross’s Turacos, The Shoebill stork among others. Here you will also be able to see abundant wildlife including; baboons, red tailed Colubus monkeys, vervet monkeys, various bird species, butterflies and many more. You will have lunch and then go for evening birding experience. You will return to the Hotel/Lodge/Guest House for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
On this day, you will have your breakfast before transferring from Semuliki National Park to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way you will pass through the Albertine rifts valleys and escarpments. You will also view some wildlife and take periodic stops (as determined by the driver and the tour guide). You will arrive in the evening and check in to the Lodge/Hotel/Guest House for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will begin your day with an early game drive to see early risers, predators, jackals, giraffe, antelope, Uganda Kob, hyenas, lion and elephants and various bird species including savannah forest birds, Albertine Rift endemics among others. You will return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for launch cruise on spectacular Victoria Nile which will journey us to the spectacular bottom of the Murchison Falls seeing animals like buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous aquatic birds like the uncommon shoebills plus the fish eagle along the river bank. You will return to the Lodge/Hotel/Guest House for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
On this day, you will wake up early for our breakfast and then embark on an exciting road trip to Budongo Forest for another birding experience. You will arrive in the afternoon, have lunch and then embark on our birding experience in the Forest. You will then check in to the Lodge/Hotel/Guest house for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
After our morning breakfast, you will transfer to Mabira Forest for yet another birding experience. You will arrive in the afternoon, have our lunch and go for birding experience in the forest. You will return and drive to Jinja town where you will check in to the Lodge/Hotel/Guest House for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
You will wake up and have morning breakfast, then go to for boat cruise, swimming and discover source of the Nile. You will return for Lunch, then move to Bujagali falls for rafting, acrobatics, traditional dances among others. You will return to the Lodge/Hotel/Guest house for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
On this day, you will wake up for our morning breakfast then transfer to Mount Elgon National Park. You will arrive in the afternoon, have lunch and go for an exciting birding experience where you expect to see birds like African Goshawk, Chubb’s Cisticola, White-chinned Prinia, and African Blue Flycatcher among others and coffee plantation walk where you will be required to prepare your own coffee for taking during evening campfire. You will check in to the Lodge/Hotel/Guest house for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
On this day, you will wake up at leisure for your morning breakfast before transferring back to Entebbe International Airport to take your flight back home.

What to bring
Wear stout shoes or walking boots suitable for steep muddy slopes.
Gardening gloves are excellent in the forest when pulling on vines and nettles and during tree planting activity.
Carry rain gear, sunscreen lotion, a hat (as the weather is unpredictable) and insect repellent.
Porters are available to hire when need a rise.
