This trip is one of the most exciting trips as you catch up with Uganda’s gorillas and the tree climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth, several other game will be encountered on the game drives and boat rides at the Kazinga channel.

Details

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

You will be picked on arrival at the airport by our company representative who will be your guide/driver throught your 4 days tour. You will have a stopover at the equator for a great photo moment and proceed to Mbarara for lunch. You will later continue to Queen Elizabeth National park arriving in the late afternoon. Check into the lodge and embark on an evening game drive. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Mweya safaris Lodge.

Day 2: Boat cruise and Transfer to Bwindi NP

You will rise up this morning to catch up with the early hunting cats and the other gem that are most active in the morning hours. Return to the lodge for breakfast and check out of the lodge to launch the boat cruise on Kazinga channel. Look out for the hippos and crocodiles and birds among other wildlife in this area. You will later transfer to Bwindi National Park through Ishasha sector which is famously known for the tree climbing lions. You will arrive in the evening hours and check in to the lodge for dinner and overnight Bakiga Lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking – Bwindi NP

On this day you will need to wake up very early by 6:00am, have breakfast and leave with packed lunch. Drive to the Park headquarters where you will be briefed by UWA team on what to do while in the park tracking the gorillas. Gorilla tracking involves hiking up to the hills to find a habituated Gorilla group to learn about their behavior. You will be allowed to spend one full hour with them once you meet these gentle giants. Watching the dominant silverback watching over the rest of the family is one of the most amazing experience in this whole trip. Mothers are seen taking care of the young ones, juveniles playing too much jumping on trees and running around the forest. This activity may take 2-8 hours. Carry enough water and snacks to avoid starving in the forest. Return back to your lodge after trekking and if time allows go for a walk through the Batwa community/homesteads to see how they live and enjoy their cultural performances or relax at Bakiga Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Return to Kampala

After an early breakfast, you will set off for your journey back to Kampala through Kabale town. Enjoy stunning views of the rolling and terraced hills of this countryside of the pearl of Africa.  You will have a stopover at Mbarara for lunch and for a cultural encounter of the Ankole culture. Proceed to Kampala and arrive in the evening as you catchup with your flight.
