3 Days Nyiragongo Hike tour to is one of the most thrilling hikes in Congo and in the world. It hosts the world’s biggest Lava Lake hence being one of the most interesting Mountain to climb ever. The top of this volcano provides fantastic views of the entire Virunga National Park and the surrounding communities. This tour will start from and end in Kigali Rwanda.
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Kivu Gisenyi and Boat ride in the afternoon.
After breakfast in the morning, you will be picked up by our representative from the airport or your hotel and transfer you to Gisenyi on Lake Kivu shores. On arrival, you will have lunch and later have a boat ride to tour around the lake Kivu. You will visit coffee island, gas plant and the hot springs before you cross over to Congo and proceed to Goma. Check into the lodge to spend the night and dinner.
Day 2: Nyiragongo hike
You will have breakfast early morning and go for briefing at the hiking starting point at Kibati patrol post which is about 30 minutes from Goma. The hiking safari experience usually starts at 10:00am and will take approximately 4-6 hours depending on the speed and the level of fitness of the participants in order to reach the summit. You will arrive at about 4-5pm in the evening and enjoy the enormous views of the summit, the active volcanoes with massive fire flames are best viewed at night. Have dinner and night stay at the summit camp.
Day 3: Descend the Mountain and depart.
In the morning you will descend to the bottom of the Volcano and continue to the border and crossover to Rwanda proceeding to Kigali airport for your flight.
End of trip.
